What follows is information on the following two subjects:
1.  A seminar I have taught numerous times – “Childhood Conversion: How Children Come to Faith in Christ”
2.  Other speaking engagements I would be delighted to fulfill

1A seminar I have taught numerous times – “Childhood Conversion: How Children Come to Faith in Christ”

For many years, Jim Elliff (www.ccwtoday.org) has taught this seminar, but now I am primarily responsible to travel to churches and other venues and teach the material to parents, teachers, pastor’s fraternals, etc.  I have taken Jim’s work and developed it with further insights and some of my own illustrations.  We have just begun working on a book that will expand what is taught at the seminar.  The seminar is usually an event that lasts three hours, broken down into the following schedule:

-Session 1 (one hour)
-Break (approx. 15 min.)
-Session 2 (one hour)
-Q & A (30 min.)

The first section of the seminar deals with our responsibility to convey the gospel to the children God has entrusted to our care.  The second section answers the question, “What do we look for and encourage as indications of the work of God in our children?”  Put another way, a title for the first section could be “Childhood Conversion and the Gospel of God,” and a title for part two could be “Childhood Conversion and the Grace of God.”  In my estimation, there is a real need for a seminar like this because many parents, and even children’s and youth ministry workers, are tragically unclear about how to convey the gospel to children, the necessary response to the gospel, and how a child (or anyone) becomes a Christian.

When I teach this seminar, I come with resources from Christian Communicators Worldwide to give away and sell.  Some of these materials are directly related to the seminar, but some are not.  My travel policy gives further information about having me come and teach.

2.  Other speaking engagements I would be delighted to fulfill
I enjoy preaching the Bible in various settings.  It would be my privilege to come to your church and preach for a conference you are hosting, a retreat you are having (youth, men’s, etc.), and for any of your weekly gatherings, even if it doesn’t include the seminar on childhood conversion.

  1. Steve, I hadn’t seen this website before and it does help me to understand what a conference might look like much better. I need to discuss this with my staff and then get back with you. May God continue to bless your ministry. Blessings, Mike Hamby
