Over the years, I have been in many nursing homes, and had some unique experiences. Over the past two months, I have begun ministering in a local nursing home, usually taking Katie and Luke with me. I’m hopeful to get more people from my church involved. All of this combined has led to an article I wrote that I hope you will consider:

We had the students from my Park U. Bible Study over for supper tonight for a Christmas party. One of the Chinese students (whom we just met tonight!) was very friendly and while we were eating asked why I thought God allowed her friend to get cancer. We had a serious time talking about that difficult subject. We then spent some time discussing Matthew 1:21, “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” The Bible study this year is all young ladies, so they don’t have any problem talking! That carried through tonight. We had a great time. Patty did her typcial superb job of cooking, serving, and making the house feel warm and friendly. I did my typical mediocre job of making the guests laugh.

Thank you for praying. There were 20+ youth present (several from my church, which was terrific!). The Lord seemed to bless the time. I always enjoy teaching young people!

I’ll be preaching tonight at a youth retreat in Lawson, Missouri. It should be very enjoyable as several of our church’s youth will be present. Please pray for Jeff Parks (Cornerstone Baptist Church’s pastor) and me. Jeff will speak twice, and I will speak once.
